Global Design Project #026 - Sketch Challenge
This week's sketch challenge is fantastic. There is so much you can do with this layout! I decided to stick with my current Mother's Day theme, (again) using Bloomin' Hearts Thinlits Dies and First Sight stamp set from the 2016 Occasions Catalogue. I'm actually preparing for the CQ Craft Expo, along with 3 other CQ Stampin' Up! demonstrators but there'll be more info on that later in the month.
As I mentioned in my last blog post, be sure to use the Precision Base Plate and Big Shot Die Brush (featured on page 19 Occasions Catalogue) for best results with this delicate design. You'll also notice in my supply list, 2 different types of Whisper White Cardstock; thick for the base card and standard cardstock for flowers and sentiment. Today I've placed a Mother's Day message on the inside of my card...
Here are the supplies you might need to CASE my card.
Caseing The Catty #69 - Love Blossoms
It's been a while - sorry! We should get straight in to it ... I love this week's CASE-ing The Catty Challenge. Love Blossoms is a gorgeous suite from Stampin' Up!'s latest Occasions Catalogue. The brief was to showcase inspirations from page 16 -25 of the catalogue. I've actually incorporated products from the Birthday Bouquet suite in my project as well. Let's take a look at some of the inspirational catalogue images from the love Blossoms suite ...
As you will see, I've basically used the sketch (pictured above on the right) and created a super cute mother's day card. I could have used the Love You sentiment from the Blooming Love stamp set which would have worked really well, but I was itching to use my new First Sight stamp set. You know that feeling right? Brand new set of stamps that you just HAVE to use, right now, or else you'll burst. I get that a lot. Hope I'm not alone here?
Couple of tips for this one. Be sure to use the Precision Base Plate for these detailed thinlits dies for a nice clean cut. To remove your die from the thinlits plate, place the image face down on you handy foam pad. Apply a little pressure and roll the brush back & forth over the thinlit to push out your image. The amount of pressure you will need differs for the type of paper you use. Always start out with a little light pressure and work your way up. Both the Precision Base Plate & Big Shot Die Brush are available from the Occasions Catalogue (page 19) until May 31st 2016. Get your supply list for this project right here!
