CASE-ing The Catty #132 – Birthdays

Are you loving the new catalogue or what!? This week the CTC Crew are featuring projects inspired by the Stampin’ Up Birthday images on pages 68 – 85. Similar to last week, I’ve chosen a fantastic card layout on page 82.

Super cute, right? Love this card. The colours are pretty and the layout is simple yet effective. Just to show how great this layout is, I’ve CASE’d it with a masculine feel. It was SO difficult leaving bling off my card, but I’m really happy with how it turned out.

To go along with my sea-themed card, I made an envelope using page 25 of the recently retired SU Occasions Catalogue. Regrettably I have a couple of copies left. So, I decided to cut up one whole catalogue and check out the envelopes you can make from it.

Well, it turns out you can end up with 28 beautiful, super fun envelopes! Ah, what a relief!! I hate the thought of throwing away retired catalogues, such a waste. The paper is lovely and thin, folds perfectly. To complete the envelope I slapped a sticky white address label on the front and now it’s ready to send!

Look, I might just be more excited about the envelope than I am about the pretty blue card. Is that terrible? A list of the supplies I used to make this week’s card are listed below.

Up next on the CTC Blog Hop we have Kathryn Mangelsdorf. If you have started our hop with me, the wonderful blog before me is Bronwyn so make sure you keep going through to see everyone’s work.

That’s it for me this week. If you have more creative ways of recycling your old SU Catty’s I’d love to hear them!

  1. OOOOHHH I love the shading of the blue, and I LOVE the way the waves stop at the boat – such a super clever idea!! Great card, and brilliant envelopes!! Love upcycling – perfect reuse for the catalogues!!

  2. What a great card Krissy – such a fab CASE! I love your masculine card and it looks fab without any bling! Such a clever way of using the embossing folder. I may have to CASE your upcycling of the retired catalogues into envelopes! How cool are they?!

  3. I didn’t really notice how the embossing folder is only at the bottom until I read the comments- super clever. Love the whole card! And you already know I’m a fan of matching envelopes!
