CTC #135 – A Whole lot of Lovely

CASE-ing The Catty #135 – Holidays

Hello! If you’ve just joined our blog hop with me, we are featuring projects Inspired but the Holiday (Christmas) section of Stampin’ Up’s Annual catty. The CTC Design Team have featured some gorgeous cards this week so be sure to hop on through to the end of the blog hop.

I had some fun with the challenge this week. There’s a beautiful card on page 114 that I just had  to CASE. I love this card, it’s a fantastic layout I will use time and time again. My head is going crazy with endless variations! Different shapes, sizes, colours, stamps ….

It’s such a shame I only had enough time to make the one card. I could have locked my self in the craft room for days if I was allowed haha!

As you can see, I’ve done a fair amount of fussy cutting.  I LOVED that feature from the original design with the little trees. I also CASE’d the circular panels, trim element, die cut sentiment and a little stamping on the base card stock.

One little thing worth mentioning is the yellow circle. If you look close enough you’ll notice some clear embossing. I used one of the embossing masks still available in the clearance rack, versa mark & clear embossing powder. This is a new technique for me, I can’t believe I had not thought of using the masks for powder embossing before!? You might just be able to see it in this pic …

Well that’s it for me this week. I’l leave you with the list of supplies I’ve used. Don’t forget to check the Clearance rack every now & then! Sometimes you might see things differently. A retired, forgotten-about  product might just be exactly what you’re looking for right now… at a better price too!

Next up in this week’s CTC Sunday Challenge is my good friend Liz, or hop backwards to visit Kelly’s blog.
