CASE-ing The Catty #136 – Thanks

Welcome back! This week is particularly exciting. We have some new Design Team members to introduce! Big thank you to all the wonderful applicants that expressed interest. It was so difficult to choose the new crew, but here they are:

Alisa Tilsner, Angela Meiritz-Reid, Fi Cobbin, Megan Lenske, Peta Stephen, Rose Packer & Sandra Collett

Congratulations & welcome to the CTC Crew!

You will start to see these lovely ladies join in over the next few weeks. This week we are showcasing Thanks, from pages 126 – 131 of Stampin’ Up’s Annual Catalogue.

The card I chose to CASE is that super cute one on the left. Couple of features I love about this particular card – the bright colours, DSP panels, clean sentiment, wooden elements and the twine … so basically all of it! hehe

I don’t yet own the 3D Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder so I used the equally awesome – Layered Leaves DTIEF. If you jump to page 131 you will notice a fantastic tip about adding extra colour to your embossed images. I only just realised these tips are dotted through the Catty, how did I miss this!?

So following SU’s advice, I spritzed, embossed then sponged using a Dauber dipped in Lemon Lime Twist. I quite like the extra dimension you get when spritzing the cardstock, it’s worth the extra step. Just gives added durability so you really make the most of your image. Loving  the added colour too. Can’t wait to try it with Pinewood Planks (when i get it!).

I must admit, I am a little low on my embellishment supplies from the new 2017-2018 Catty, so I’ve improvised using retired twine & wooden elements stock. Everything else is current and available. Just quietly, don’t be afraid to use up your retired supplies. No point in saving them. Current supplies I have used/would have liked to use for this card..

Here’s the current version of my wooden elements …

Well that’s it from me this week, thanks again for checking in. Jump on backwards to visit Monique’s blog or, next up we have Angela’s very first CTC blog hop entry!

  1. Beautiful CASE Krissy! I don’t have that DSP yet but your card has bumped it further up the list!!

  2. Great card Krissy – and I love that sentiment. It’s so true! And you have proven again that there is always something new to see in the catalogue ….even if we have looked at it a thousand times! …. who? us?
