CTC#138 – Holidays Colour Combo

CASE-ing The Catty #138 – Holidays

Hello! I hope you’ve had a great week. This Sunday we are revisiting the Holidays section in honour of Christmas In July. I have to be completely honest with you, I’m not ready for this. I can’t even begin to think about Christmas. I have so much I want to achieve before December. Ok, so I’m putting it out there in the universe – I would like to be pregnant during Christmas this year #familygoals #ivfstruggles #dontgiveup. So, no. I am not making Christmas cards, just yet. #sorrynotsorry.

This week, I found an awesome colour combination on page 122 of the Annual Catalogue. Island Indigo, Bermuda Bay and Soft Sky… just gorgeous together! Here is the SU project ..

So pretty. Here is the Birthday card I have made with those 3 colours + Whisper White.

I like the idea of showcasing alternate colouring techniques, so instead of sponging I have gone with smooshing to give a watercolour effect. Smooshing is where you use a plastic sheet to pick up slightly watered down ink and transfer the ink to your cardstock. Once you have done that a few times with various ink colours, you then use an Aqua Painter to splatter a few droplets of water onto your cardstock, let that sit a few seconds then use paper towel to draw out some ink for the water spot effect.

Once you are happy with your watercolour background, stamp your image in Versa Mark, sprinkle some white Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat. Really happy with the Build a Bike stamp for this card, the background contributes to the seat and handle bar colours. I’ve used the gorgeous Glitter Enamel Dots to finish the card off. The Ombre shades match SO many colours. To me, the lightest blue looks a lot like Soft Sky so that’s perfect for my colour combo CASE.

That’s it for me, thank so much for stopping in! Next up we have one of our uber talented new-comers Alisa Tilsner, or hop backwards to re-visit Mel’s super cute card.
