Colour INKspiration #01 – Smiles across the miles
Welcome to the very first blog hop for Bronwyn’s wonderful interactive idea – Colour INKspiration! Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month a new colour swatch will be uploaded to the Colour INKspiration Facebook group. The CI design team will get the ball rolling by providing an example of a card or project inspired by the selected colours then, upload your own card to the Facebook album and join in the fun! The BEST part about this challenge – no blog required (optional link if you wish to share those details). All you need is Facebook and Stampin’ Up! supplies. How fantastic is that! No more exclusions for those without their own web page. Here’s a quick introduction of the Colour INKspiration Design Team! (I’m 5th along, top row)
So let’s get started. This week’s Pinterest image is oh so summery, bright and uplifting. Which lead me to even more inspiration! Here is the Colour INKspiration swatch.
As you can see, there are six beautiful colours but we only needed a minimum of 3 for the challenge. I chose to use all 5 plus silver and Very Vanilla. Most challenges you are allowed to add a neutral colour or two. As I mentioned earlier, looking at those colours gave me a total “light bulb” moment … the perfect bundle for this would be Lift me Up and Up & Away Thinlits Dies!! If we dissect this a little further, the colours that really stand out to me in this swatch are Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron, Sweet Sugarplum and Blushing Bride, so that’s the stand out colours on my project this week. You’ll only catch a slight hint of Peekaboo Peach and Mint Macaron.
Every cloud has a silver lining, did you notice that!? I’m a little pleased with myself over that one hahaha. Here is the list of supplies I’ve used for this week’s project.
I can’t tell you just how much I love the Cupcake & Carousels paper stack, which is odd really. At first it didn’t really appeal to me, not sure what changed my mind but now I love it. Looks spectacular with the hot air balloons, right!? In fact, the list of items I LOVE from the Occasions catalogue is really much too big.
Moving on, next up in the Colour INKspiration hop is Rebecca! Be sure to continue on and check out all the wonderful blog posts from our design team.
That’s it for our very first challenge. I hope we’ve managed to inspire you? Remember, the best part is when YOU share with us your own creation using these fabulous colours. Join our Facebook Group and get in on all the fun! Our next CI colour challenge is January 25th – don’t miss it!
