CASE-ing The Catty #87 – Artistic Expression
Welcome! This week we are CASE-ing the Artistic Expression section of the Stampin’ Up! 2016 -2017 Annual Catalogue, pages 92 – 157. Can I just say, that’s 65 pages of inspiration! Do you have any idea how hard it was to chose 1 design to CASE? Let me tell you, it was very difficult. So hard to choose one… so I chose 3!
Feeling a little overwhelmed with the many wonderful projects in the catalogue, I decided to settle on one stamp set to work with and just start there. Turned out to be the right way to go about this week’s challenge for me. I chose to work with the Blooms & Bliss Suite on page 138. My Blooms & Wishes stamps just arrived on Monday so I was pretty keen to use this set. For my first card, I used inspiration from a sweet quick & easy card on page 135. The washer is actually from the Affectionately Yours Suite. You might notice a little shine to the sentiment, it’s stamped with Island Indigo, then restamped with clear embossing powder & heated. That little tip came from the gift tags on page 139 (pictured above). I’m pretty please with this card, I think I’ll be making a set of these!
The second card design was inspired by a Father’s Day card on page 131. With this sentiment I had to mask some of the words with sticky notes, ink stamp, remove notes then stamp on the cardstock. Turned out quite nice and wasn’t too fussy to do. I should mention, all the envelopes today were also stamped to coordinate nicely.
My favourite out of all three would easily be the card I made last. Perhaps because I was on a roll? Totally in the ‘creative zone’?.. who knows! I really think it’s because I found a design I hadn’t really noticed before, but I’ve added it to the top of my design list! There is a super cute card on page 146 of the AC, fairly simple but so effective. I just love it. So, I chose a nice bright piece of DSP, added vellum and a few little bits and pieces and came up with this!
If you haven’t yet purchased this suite, I highly recommend adding it to your wish list. It’s super cute, GORGEOUS colours and really versatile. These are the supplies I’ve used this week:
