CI #13 – Blooms & Wishes

Colour INKspiration #13

It’s been a while, but I’m back! Great to be creating with the Colour INKspiration Crew again, and what a great week to kick it off! …

I love these colours together in a floral theme. Although I don’t yet own the lovely orchid bundle, I have used Blooms & Wishes to create a super cute, simple wreath.

To make the wreath perfectly round, I used one of the circles from the Layering Thinlits Dies and traced a very faint pencil mark around it. I started stamping some Wasabi leaves, added the 3 flowers, then the Lemon Lime Twist thingys (yes, not too sure what those things are called). Lastly, I stamped a few more leaves to fill in some spaces.

Funny story with the black strip of cardstock… Grabbed my whisper white card stock, sliced it at 14.9, then scored at 10.5 and just stopped. Mouth open. Frowny face. I had used scrap paper, not a whole sheet of A4, oops! So now I had an incomplete card base. Do I toss it & start again? Nope – don’t have time for that! So I grabbed the nearest off-cut sitting on my desk and stuck it down! Just so I could bring that black into the wreath, I used Archival Black for my sentiment. Turns out I really like the look! Would have been better if I had a strip of Fresh Fig or Sweet Sugarplum handy but not to worry. Finishing touches were 3 shiny jewels and a linen bow.

Next on the Colour INKspiration blog hop we have Denita. Alternatively you can hop backwards to visit Rebecca’s blog.

See you next time!
